~ Estimated System Cost for Industry Class IV Laser:

10W CO2 Coder          Buy ~  $13,900 US          Build ~   $8,550 US            Save ~   $5,350 US
30W CO2 Coder          Buy ~  $19,900 US          Build ~ $12,767 US            Save ~   $7,133 US

In most all cases if you build your own laser using our design you should save enough money not only to pay for the design but to put money in your own pocket on your first laser immediately. Numbers used for design BOM's include single component purchase and one day labor for assembly once all parts and sub-assemblies are in inventory.
NOTE: Major Component Suppliers; Laser's quoted Universal/Synrad on CO2, IPG/SPi Laser on the Fiber, Scan Head with XY2 protocol quoted Nutfield, Raylase, GSI Group and Century Sunny, Control Card and User Interface Software, Lanmark Controls.
Warranty

Very few laser system manufactures produce any of their own major components, such as the laser, scan system, control cards or interface software. As a matter of fact, we would be suspicious of the companies that do produce their own major components as they are always hard pressed to build and keep up with the latest technology from companies that specialize in only one thing. Remember most laser system suppliers warranties are just pass through warranties from the major component suppliers. You can do the same thing.
Build vs. Buy Value
CO2 Coders are defined by the packaging industry as small, fast and low cost. As with any CO2 laser device, it offers fantasic marking ability on virtually any organic material, including paper, cardboard, glass and wood. The goal of any CO2 laser coder design is speed vs. power; therefore we offer two designs in this category which include a 10 and 30 watt design version both using a 10mm aperture scan head.

10W Fiber Laser          Buy ~  $34,900 US          Build ~ $21,649 US            Save ~ $13,251 US
20W Fiber Laser          Buy ~  $44,900 US          Build ~ $23,744 US            Save ~ $21,156 US
30W Fiber Laser          Buy ~  $54,900 US          Build ~ $27,390 US            Save ~ $27,510 US
CO2 Markers are usually defined for a more general purpose industrial enviroment. Typically finding applications that require more power and energy density for cutting, drilling, deep engraving, etc., while using the speed benefits associated with galvo's. Since these designs are for the CO2 Laser, the materials are typically wood, paper, cardboard, plastic, fabric and glass. The designs are based on scan heads with at least a 25mm aperature and laser power of 25 and 50 watts.

25W CO2 Marker         Buy ~  $24,900 US          Build ~ $12,166 US            Save ~ $12,734 US
50W CO2 Marker         Buy ~  $29,900 US          Build ~ $15,670 US            Save ~ $14,230 US

Fiber Lasers are designed for inorganic materials, like metals and plastics. The applications range from stain marking to micromachining such as cutting, drilling and welding. The rail designs are small due to the YAG laser beam being delivered by a fiber bundle to the launch optics to the scan head. The scan heads are fast using a 10mm aperture based on the optics for the short wavelength.
